A Bolingbrook woman whose vehicle broke through the ice of retention pond and a good Samaritan who attempted to help her both remain in stable condition at a nearby hospital after emergency responders rescued them last night, police said. Full story.

East Dundee helping business expand
East Dundee officials approved funds last night to help longtime business Bandito Barney's Beach Club and Bordello expand and upgrade its facility. Owners invested $1.1 million in the project, while village officials earmarked $300,000 in TIF money, with the expectation that they'll recapture the investment through the sales tax money produced there.
