School taxes are draining our wallets
How much did your property taxes go up? Ours went up 20 percent. I bet some of yours went up that much (or more).
Did you look to see where that extra money is going? Most of it (75 percent) is going to the schools. Really? Do they really need more money? I don't know about you, but I need more money too. Maybe it's time for the schools to trim the fat, and with that I mean start cutting some of their outrageous salaries.
Do superintendents need to make over $200,000 a year? Do principals need to make over $100,000 a year? And on top of that, they earn this tenure deal that we the taxpayers have to support them after they leave?
No wonder everyone wants to be a teacher. C'mon people, speak up. Look at where your hard-earned dollars are going. I know it's Christmas and a lot of people have their hands out, but the schools, they have a vacuum that is connected directly into our wallets.
