Traveling Smithsonian exhibit coming to SIU

CARBONDALE, Ill. — A traveling Smithsonian exhibit is coming to Southern Illinois University and will include some local history.

The Southern Illinoisan reports that the exhibit called, "The Way We Worked," is coming to the university from Oct. 1 to Nov. 12. The exhibit focuses on the concept of work from different perspectives over the last 150 years.

One section of the exhibit will focus on the former Good Luck Glove Factory in Carbondale.

Officials with the university say they would like to add more items to the exhibit and are asking the public for any contributions. University officials will collect items and materials that could be used for the exhibit starting next month.
