Scouting Zion-Benton at Libertyville

Zion-Benton (0-5, 0-2) at Libertyville (1-4,1-2)

When: 7:30 p.m., today

Last week: Zion-Benton lost to Lakes, 14-7; Libertyville lost to Lake Zurich, 44-22.

Skinny: It's been a long time since Libertyville faced a playoff-elimination game in Week 6. But the Wildcats are in the predicament, in part, due to a defense that has struggled stopping the opposition. Libertyville has surrendered 202 points, most of any NSC Lake team. Wildcats QB A.J. Schurr and 6-5 WR Jeremy Birck continue to put up monster numbers. Schurr leads all Lake County passers with 1,319 passing yards and has completed 62 percent of his throws. Birck has 41 receptions, including 11 for TDs. ... Against Lakes, Zion-Benton didn't score until 39 seconds remained in the fourth quarter, when QB Cole Urban threw a 7-yard strike to WR Lucas Hemenway. Zee-Bees RB Artavius Nixon rushed 14 times for 52 yards, and the defense got interceptions from Donovan Wilson and Eric Miles. ... Zion-Benton's 5 losses have come against teams that are a combined 20-5.
