Libertyville history

Authors Laura Hickey, Arlene Lane, and Sonia Schoenfield will take a step back in time to the 1950s with their local history book, “Libertyville Then & Now” during a presentation at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17, at the Libertyville-Mundelein Historical Society monthly meeting.

The public is invited to share memories of the 1950s, a turning point for Libertyville as the town was transitioning from a quaint farming community into a vibrant upper-middle class suburban village.

The images in the book, captured by Carl Cizek, provide a visual journey of a maturing town.

The meeting is at Cook Memorial Library, 413 N. Milwaukee Ave.
