‘Bulldogs Unleashed’ at Art in Your Eye festival

The title speaks for itself: “Bulldogs Unleashed.”

This Batavia project — produced by the Batavia Foundation for Educational Excellence, the Batavia Library Foundation and the Batavia Parks Foundation — will be featured at the Art in Your Eye festival this weekend.

The whole project is to “unleash” as many bulldogs around the area as possible to celebrate the community. Donations, instead of bulldogs, also are welcomed that help schools, library and parks, along with local artists.

“A lot of the artists have painted bulldogs that are all over Batavia,” said Rebecca Allen, coordinator for the Art in Your Eye festival. “So we have a video featuring a behind-the-scenes look … it’s like a documentary on how that was put on. And then we’ll also have a tour of where all the bulldogs are around town.”

The video will be shown at noon and 3 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday on the second floor of city hall, 100 N. Island Ave. The walking tour is conducted around Batavia, leaving from the main information tent at Island Avenue and Houston Street. The tours will be at 10:30 a.m. both days.
