Five holiday festivals in Barrington

Barrington will hold five unique festivals on Saturday, Dec. 7, to celebrate Santa’s arrival ushering in the holidays. The Candy Cane Festival, including a children’s petting zoo, will be at the Foundry Shopping Center on Northwest Highway from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Winter Wonderland, including a dance presentation of The Nutcracker, will be at the Ice House Mall on Applebee Street from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Holidazzle Fest at Heinen’s will be held at The Shops of Flint Creek on North Hough Street from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Gingerbread Lane will be held at The Shops on Lageschulte Street from noon to 5 p.m. Barrington Aglow — the annual tree lighting ceremony — will take place at 5 p.m. at 100 S. Cook St. Once again, the village is teaming up with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program by accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys there next to Santa’s red house from 1 to 6:30 p.m. Barrington’s Holiday Trolley will run for free among all locations.
