Local Mac fans' favorite app list

The Northwest of Us Mac user group, with members throughout the Northwest suburbs, has compiled a list of members' favorite apps for the iPad. They are:

• 1 password: Remembers your passwords automatically for websites you visit, bank accounts and software licenses. It syncs with all devices automatically.

• MapQuest: One of the best mapping solutions now with recently added turn-by-turn announcements navigating you to your location in a snap.

• Good Reader: Lets you view PDF files and transfer files easily from your computer to your devices.

• Yahoo Entertainment: Guide to TV, cable and movie entertainment with details of times and locations.

• Netflix: Users can stream their favorite movies to their iPad or other devices, but requires membership in Netflix.

• Lose it: Weight loss app that calculates your food calories and exercise to help you monitor, track and lose weight.

• Amazon.com: Helps you shop on Amazon with their complete catalog.

• Angry Birds: Addicting game of birds and pigs with 225 levels requiring skill.

• The Weather Channel: Get the latest weather information with a fabulous interface.
