A jurist who's always fair, well-prepared

As a past president of the DuPage County Bar Association and as a practicing attorney for almost 25 years, I am personally familiar with all of the judges serving on the DuPage County Circuit Court.

A number of these judges are up for retention this year, and I wish to single out one in particular Judge Ken Popejoy. I wish to point out that I have no cases pending before him at this time, nor do I expect to have any in front of him in the near future.

However, I have appeared in court before Judge Popejoy on many past occasions, and as the past chairman of the Bar Association's Judiciary Committee, I am well aware of his evaluations and ratings by my fellow members of the bar. I have always found Judge Popejoy to be hard working, well-prepared, knowledgeable about the law and fair to all parties.

Judge Popejoy regularly earns some of the highest ratings of any judge serving in the county in polls taken of the legal community in terms of legal knowledge and ability, temperament and integrity. He also serves as the acting chief judge when our chief judge is on vacation, or otherwise unavailable, which is further testament to how much he is valued by his fellow judges.

I personally endorse Judge Popejoy and recommend that you vote to retain this excellent jurist when you go into the polling place to vote this Election Day.
