Glen Ellyn Newcomers Club Announces Kathleen Culp Award Recipient and New Executive Board at Annual Dinner

The Glen Ellyn Newcomers Club, a social organization founded in 1952 for the purpose of welcoming new residents of Glen Ellyn and the immediate vicinity, has named Kim Stortz as recipient of the Kathleen Culp Award for 2011.

The Kathleen Culp Award, named for the Club's founder, recognizes individuals who embody a warm and welcoming spirit in Glen Ellyn. Kim served as the club president in 2009-2010. The members consistently recognized Kim's open and friendly personality as reasons for receiving the award.

The 2011-2012 Newcomer's Executive Board was also announced at a year end celebration dinner held at the Ivy Restaurant in downtown Wheaton. They are President Diana Laufenberg, Vice President Ruthie Wood, Treasurer Donna Petite, Corresponding Secretary Katie Morgan and Recording Secretary Carrie Bills. All Board members are new residents of Glen Ellyn.

The club will officially kick-off the new year in September but will continue to host a welcoming social in July and August. The next welcoming social will be Wednesday July 6 at 7:30 pm.
