Allegiance Color Guard, a nonprofit youth performing arts program based in Dundee, is currently accepting new members for its upcoming “winter guard” season.

Winter Guard is an activity that blends traditional flag and rifle twirling with dance choreography, theatrical staging and competitive team sports. Previous color guard experience is not required to participate.

Membership in Allegiance is open to male and female youth in age groups 7-13 and 14-22. Allegiance draws participants from various communities throughout northern Illinois, including East Dundee, West Dundee, Carpentersville, Algonquin, Lake in the Hills, Crystal Lake, Huntley, Marengo and McHenry.

Rehearsals are typically held Wednesday nights and Saturdays. Newcomers are encouraged to participate in one free rehearsal to try it out before signing up.
