8 hurt in Chicago bus accident

Eight people were taken to a hospital with minor injuries after a Chicago Transit Authority bus slammed on its brakes.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported the passengers were hurt Wednesday when they tumbled on the bus after the driver stopped suddenly after being cut off by a taxi cab on Michigan Avenue.

Authorities say all the injuries were nonlife-threatening.
