Let's help ourselves first

In the Oct. 23 Daily Herald, Hillary Clinton announced a $2 billion aid package for Pakistan for arms, ammunition and accessories. This is in addition to the $7.5 billion already committed to Pakistan in civilian assistance, some of which has been diverted to help the country deal with devastating floods.

Isn't this a great nation ... we give them money to deal with floods and the U.S. government refused to give aid to Illinois for the devastating floods that hit the Chicago suburbs.

We give aid to their military while we have returning military personnel living out of their cars, on the street and single mothers trying to survive. These people may receive a check from the government but if they make an extra few dollars, they must report it so it can be deducted from their monthly check or they will be sent to jail.

An illegal immigrant here can work all he or she wants to for cash, and that's OK.

Fine treatment of our returning service people. Why do we love our enemies and hate those that put their life on the line to defend us?
