Is Meijer dropping Prospect Hts. for Arlington Hts.?
Meijer stores are a prize for local communities looking for development, especially those with large stores or shopping centers sitting vacant.
Dolly Vole, mayor of Prospect Heights, said Meijer won't be going in a vacant Dominick's in her town because “they got a better offer from Arlington Heights.”
But the word around the Arlington Heights Village Hall is the big box retailer is unlikely to land there either.
There's already a Meijer on Algonquin Road in Rolling Meadows, very close to the southwest corner of Arlington Heights.
