Benefit to help 4-year-old cancer patient

A benefit is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 19, to raise money for the family of a 4-year-old Libertyville boy suffering from a rare form of brain cancer.

A celebration supporting Connor’s Cause and Connor Johnson is set for noon to 3 p.m. at Fatman Sports Lounge and Lanes, 13860 Rockland Road, Green Oaks.

The event features an ongoing raffle and silent auction while enjoying all-you-can-eat pizza, unlimited soda, a cash bar and unlimited bowling.

Tickets cost $25 each for adults and teens 15 and older; $15 for children ages 6 to 14; and free for kids ages 5 and younger.

Purchase tickets online or at the door on the day of the event. The website is www.ConnorsCause.com.

Connor had surgery in November to remove a tumor from his brain. The family was told a few days later his tumor is a very rare and extremely aggressive form of cancer that occurs in less than 1 percent of all pediatric brain cancer patients.

The family has selected St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., for his treatment and follow-up therapy.

Connor’s Cause is appealing to local businesses for raffle prizes and silent auction items. If you have a product or service you wish to donate, contact Stacy Trager at (847) 665-8055 or stacy@ideaworksdesign.net to work out the details.
