Props to Elgin Mayor for no car perks

Thank you, Mayor Ed Schock! In the headline of last Sunday's Daily Herald all about the many mayors wasting our taxpayers' money with new expensive take home cars, car allowances, many perks and stipends with all their pictures our Mayor Ed Schock's picture was not there! Our Elgin Mayor, whose salary is $15,000 a year, drives his own car and pays for his own gas around town. He only submits for mileage reimbursement if he drives to the state Capitol in Springfield.

Good for you, Mr. Mayor! You really lead the way on this one and set a good example for other mayors to follow. No wonder we keep you! We Elginites are proud of you for standing head and shoulders above the rest on this one. Thank you for your leadership.
