If public workers left for better deal
I want to thank the Daily Herald for presenting all sides of issues, unlike some of the other newspapers in the area. Some, who are paid for by wealthy benefactors, only look at their side.
Take the issue of public worker pensions, for example. Some wealthy business owners have spent much money on editorials and ads to show that Illinois cannot afford to pay out pensions to those middle class public employees who have paid into the system, and have counted on them being there for the end of their career.
These wealthy individuals threaten that their companies will have to leave Illinois, and worsen the economy. I wonder where Illinois would be if all of the public employees like teachers, firemen, policemen and others left the state to find a “better deal?”
It makes you think, doesn’t it?
