Bartlett deck fire blamed on improper disposal of smoking materials

No injuries were reported after fire broke out Wednesday night on the deck of a row home in Bartlett, authorities said.

Bartlett Fire District officials said firefighters called to the home on the 1100 block of Sausalito Court at about 7:06 p.m. arrived to find the rear deck on fire.

The fire was declared under control at 7:20 p.m.

No civilians or firefighters were injured and the home remains habitable, officials said. Damage estimates

were not immediately available.

The fire was caused by improper disposal of smoking materials, fire officials said.
