1 airlifted from Hampshire car, semi crash
One person was airlifted from the scene of a crash involving a semi-tractor and a car in Hampshire on Monday afternoon, according to fire officials.
One person was extricated from a vehicle and flown to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge with serious injuries after the 2:34 p.m. crash at the intersection of Ketchum and Big Timber Roads, according to the Hampshire Fire Department.
A second person was taken to Proven St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin with injuries that are not life-threatening.
A stretch of Big Timber Road was shut down for about 90 minutes due to the crash, fire department officials said.
The drivers were the only people in their respective vehicles.
