Democrats aren’t helping economy

Ellen Hill, in her letter on March 15, made accusations against Republicans, to stop partisan rhetoric and to end this war against the middle class.

What she neglected was the infamous deeds committed by Democrats that have not only affected the middle class but also senior citizens.

Carter and the Democratic-controlled Congress at the time abolished collective bargaining for federal employees. Is this any different from Gov. Walker’s repeal of collective bargaining?

Obama has stopped all pay raises for federal employees for two years. He further has authorized no increases in Social Security benefits for seniors in 2011 and 2012. Has this improved the middle class?

When Obama took office in January 2009, the average price of gasoline was $1.99 per gallon. Now the price is about $4 per gallon. Yet he has refused to allow permits for domestic oil drilling in various locations in the U.S. Is this improving our economy and the middle class?

Obama had stressed that people need to more civil to each other. Consider the events in Wisconsin by the union protesters with different signs depicting Walker as Hitler and other tyrants, with Walker’s picture in the cross hairs, and with a Democrat from Massachusetts inciting a crowd when discussing the situation in Wisconsin by saying that it was time to get on the streets and get bloody.

Obama, at a private dinner in the White House in May 2010, referred to members of the tea party as racists. Are these examples of stopping partisan rhetoric? Obama has increased our national debt by trillions. Is this improving our economy and the middle class?

From these examples, you know why I support Walker and vote Republican.
