Don’t use tax dollars for abortions

After reading Peggy Simonsen’s opinion on Joe Walsh I couldn’t disagree more. After devoting 15 years of my nursing career to women’s health, this is what I’ve learned: Pregnancy can be prevented, life should be respected and people need to take responsibility for their actions. Adoption anyone?

I for one take offense to politicians choosing for me on this subject — choosing to delegate my federal tax dollars toward abortion. This is a very personal decision, one in which I choose not to participate.

Perhaps Ms. Simonsen could support Planned Parenthood by writing them a check, just as I would do for the charity of my choice. By not funding abortions perhaps we could pay down the deficit with the money that we save.
