Runners hit streets for Shamrock Shuffle
With 40,000 registered participants on board, the 32nd annual Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8K welcomes its largest field in history on Sunday.
The flat and fast course tours Chicago's downtown Loop, beginning and ending in Grant Park where the traditional Post-Race Party is held at Buckingham Fountain. In advance of race day, a two-day Health & Fitness Expo is held at Navy Pier for all participants, guests and fitness enthusiasts. The Expo is free and open to the public.
Here are the details for the weekend:
• Health & Fitness Expo at Navy Pier, Exhibition Hall A, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.
• Shamrock Shuffle 8K race at Grant Park, 7-8:30 a.m. Sunday, begins at Monroe Street and Columbus Drive.
• Post-race party featuring live music by Holding Mercury and SODA at Buckingham Fountain
• Street Closures scheduled for Sunday, April 10:
