Immanuel Lutheran celebrates tourney winning volleyball team

The fifth- and sixth-grade volleyball team at Immanuel Lutheran School in Batavia celebrated an undefeated victory on Oct. 15 at the team’s first tournament.

The coed team defeated St. John’s Lombard and Trinity Lutheran Roselle to face St. Peter’s Schaumburg in the final round.

Both St. Peter’s and Immanuel entered the final round undefeated in the tournament, but Batavia was able to beat Schaumburg in the first two games of the series.

The team attributes its success to positive coaching and great teamwork.
