Tickets available for ‘The Magic of the Nutcracker’ in Libertyville and Waukegan

Ticket sales for performances of Dancenter North’s 24th annual production of “The Magic of the Nutcracker” are under way.

“The Magic of the Nutcracker” will be presented at 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 8 and 9, at Libertyville High School’s Butler Auditorium, 708 W. Park Ave., Libertyville.

Tickets for these performances can only be purchased through Dancenter North by calling (847) 367-7970, or by stopping by in person at their office at 540 N. Milwaukee Ave. Group rates for the Libertyville High School performances are also available by calling Dancenter North.

The Magic of the Nutcracker will also be performed at the historic Genesee Theatre in Waukegan at 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 15 and 16. Tickets for the Genesee Theatre performances are available at their box office at 203 N. Genesee St., Waukegan, or by calling Ticketmaster at (312) 559-1212. Tickets for these two performances can also be purchased by visiting TicketMaster’s website at ticketmaster.com.

Now in its 24th year, “The Magic of the Nutcracker” is a lavish production seen by over 6,000 people every holiday season. This beloved ballet, which is produced and directed by Cheri Lindell, features a large cast of performers, including internationally renowned guest artists.

There will also be a special school show at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 14, at the Genesee Theatre. Tickets for this performance can be purchased by calling Barb Corso at the Genesee Theatre, at (847) 782-2366.

“Clara’s Dream,” a special 60-minute “storybook” version, will be performed at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday Dec. 8, at Libertyville High School. This special performance is for preschoolers and their chaperones. Tickets can be purchased by calling Dancenter North, at (847) 367-7970.
