Keeping God in the news media
Since 1974, the year we moved to Arlington Heights with our two young children, whenever I read the aim of the Daily Herald on its Opinion page, I have asked myself: “Is it really possible ‘To fear God, tell the truth and make money'?”
As the years passed, there was no doubt that it is possible to make money without the fear of God and without telling the truth. That being said, I salute the Daily Herald because it has not forgotten the aim of its founder, H.C. Paddock. I am thankful there is a public newspaper in the world today that has not joined the chorus of those who want to remove the word God from the public media.
