Elk Grove Lions help Evans family

The family of Mark and Joan Evans of Elk Grove Village were guests of the Elk Grove Lions Club at their November dinner meeting.

The Evans, a family of six, were presented with a $2,500 check to assist with their growing medical bills.

Joan Evans was recently diagnosed with advanced breast cancer; their 18-year-old triplets all have cerebral palsy and the 12-year-old son is autistic. Mark Evans just recently became unemployed.

Their story was recently featured in the Daily Herald newspaper.

The Lions, although best known for their work with the blind and deaf, also try to help whenever there is a need. The local Lions Club raises money throughout the year which is donated to local groups, families and individuals in need.
