Barrington considers new police contract

Barrington village board members Monday will consider a three-year contract with the village’s police officers retroactive to May 1, 2010.

The proposed agreement with Fraternal Order of Police Labor Council 177 would give Barrington officers a 1.5 percent wage increase on May 1, 2010; a 2.25 percent increase on May 1, 2011; and a 2 percent increase on May 1, 2012.

The contract would make the police union’s insurance premium contributions the same as the village’s other union and nonunion employees.
