None hurt in Grayslake restaurant fire
A neon light sign on a Grayslake restaurant might have ignited a fire there Friday night, authorities said.
Patrons at Jack’s Pizza & Burgers, 500 Center St., noticed smoke coming from the building’s roof just before 7:30 p.m. All those inside the restaurant were able to get out safely, and no injuries were reported, according to Battalion Chief Jim Weidman of the Grayslake Fire Department.
The fire only affected the outside of the building near the roof, and was extinguished in 20 minutes, Weidman said.
Investigators will continue to examine how the fire began, he said.
