Barrington High school girl got her ticket punched for Hollywood

Wheeling residents won't be the only ones watching the next few episodes of American Idol hoping to see a familiar face.

According to some pretty good sources, Ashika Sachdev also punched her ticket to Hollywood after auditioning in Milwaukee. Idol fans may have spotted the Barrington High School sophomore waving her golden ticket around on Wednesday's episode.

Sachdev, 15, got into singing and acting after playing Jasmine in the Barbara Rose Elementary School production of “Aladdin.” She performed in the American Girl Theater in Chicago and even taped a pilot for a Nickelodeon show, but the show never aired. At Barrington High School she's also active in the school's choir program, according to school officials.

Joining Sachdev from the Northwest suburbs will be 18-year-old Haley Reinhart, of Wheeling. Unlike Reinhart, Sachdev's audition was not among those Fox chose to feature during second week of the show's tenth season.

Sachdev and Reinhart were two of almost 350 people nationwide who moved on to the Hollywood level of competition.

The live voting doesn't happen until later however, so put those phones away.

For now.
