Hampshirebull; A 22-year-old Elgin mas stabbed Friday night outside the Kave Pub and Liquor Store at 123 Washington Ave., Hampshire. Police said Joseph Kaminski was confronted outside the tavern and a fight ensued involving several people. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, but in a news release police said that a search warrant was issued and executed for a residence on the 100 block of Jackson Avenue in Hampshire.West Dundeebull; A 24-year-old Elgin man was arrested and charged with several drug offenses and resisting a peace officer after he tried to evade police by swimming across the Fox River, reports said. Police said about 10:15 p.m. an officer spotted four people acting suspiciously in a vehicle parked in the downtown. As the officer approached the vehicle, two people got out of the vehicle and walked away. A third, Michael J. Schmidt, of the 1100 block of Coldspring Road, Elgin, also got out and ran into the Fox River. Officers from East Dundee, Carpentersville and Kane County were called in to assist in the search before a water rescue was launched. Schmidt, who had outstanding warrants from Kane County and Elgin, was charged with resisting a peace officer, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The fourth person was not identified. Schmidt is due to appear in court a 1 p.m., Sept. 23.bull;A Grayslake man was charged with battery and criminal damage to property after a confrontation with an 18-year-old woman at 5:15 p.m. Saturday at Spring Hill Mall. Police said Andre Jackson, 43, of the 700 block of Pimlico Court in Grayslake and the woman were arguing when Jackson grabbed the woman's cell phone and threw it on the ground. Jackson posted $100 bond and was released. He was given court date of Oct. 28.Elginbull; Virginio Casas III, 34, of the 100 block of South La Fox Street, South Elgin, was arrested on a charge of marijuana possession at 4:01 p.m. Sunday after a traffic stop at St. Charles Street and Kenyon Road, reports said. Police say they found 18.4 grams of marijuana on him. He is due in court on Sept. 24.bull; Javier Rodriguez, 33, of the 1200 Algonquin Drive, Elgin, was arrested on a charge of marijuana possession at 10:47 p.m. Sunday after he used his van to drive over trash cans in the 1100 block of Algonquin Drive, reports said.bull; Todd A. Osborne, 46, who is homeless, was charged with marijuana possession after he was questioned by officers at 455 p.m. Sunday at Newsome Park, 270 Kimball St., reports said. He is due in court on Sept. 24, reports said.bull; A man with a knife and wearing a black ski mask threatened a clerk at a gas station in the 200 block of North McLean Boulevard at 8:43 p.m. Friday and left with $400 to $500, reports said. The clerk was not hurt, reports said.bull; Douglas C. Bartelt, 35, who is homeless, was arrested and charged with failure to register as a sex offender at 8:15 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of South State Street, reports said. Bartelt faces three to seven years in prison if convicted. He is due in court Sept. 8 and his bond was set at 10 percent of $50,000, authorities said.bull; Adalberto Gonzalez, 19, of the 0-99 block of Longwood Place, Elgin, was arrested on five counts of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol and not having a driver's license after a traffic stop at 4:20 a.m. Monday at West Chicago Street and Commonwealth Avenue, authorities said. His bond was set at 10 percent of $50,000 and he is due in court on Sept. 9, authorities said.Kane Countybull; Fifteen to 20 scrap copper air conditioner coils were reported stolen Aug. 24 from a storage facility on the 9N500 block of Nesler Road, near Elgin. The coils, last seen Aug. 13, weighed an estimated 600 to 700 pounds, according to a police report. bull; A complaint was filed Wednesday after an Elgin-area woman found toilet paper in her trees, writing on her driveway and a toy gun mounted on a tripod facing her home on the 39W000 block of Hidden Knoll Road, according to a police report. Police said a note was found along with the toy gun reading, "2011! Happy first day - your students." Written in chalk on the driveway was "physics rule," "happy first day of school" and "your (sic) the best teacher," according to a police report. bull; An Xbox and five games were reported stolen Friday from a treehouse on the 35W900 block of David Drive, near Elgin. bull; A black and silver Sirius satellite radio receiver valued at $200 was reported stolen Saturday from an unlocked 1996 Chevrolet van on the 4N500 block of Chateaugay Lane, near Elgin. bull; A 14-inch Hilte gas saw valued at $1,000 was reported stolen Saturday from the bed of a truck on the 11N700 block of Orchard Lane, near Elgin. bull; The driver's side window of a Pontiac GS was reported smashed Sunday at the Kingdom of Jehovah's Witness Church, 10N950 S. Airlite St., near Elgin. Police said a silver iPod Nano and a Nine West purse containing a Sprint cell phone were stolen from the vehicle. bull; Two juveniles were reported missing Saturday at Larkin Center, 09N987 Koshare Trail, near Elgin. An employee told police the juveniles both were missing Friday, but had returned only to leave again after changing clothes and eating. Police planned to consult juvenile court services, according to the police report.
