Tanker truck blown over on tollway exit ramp didn’t leak

The westbound exit ramp of the Jane Addams Tollway at Route 25 in Elgin is open again after emergency crews determined that a tanker truck that had tipped over there this morning posed no imminent danger.

State police officials had closed the ramp after the 9:50 a.m. crash, declaring it a hazardous materials scene. However, it was determined the tanker, carrying resin, was not leaking.

Police say high winds this morning played a role in the crash.

The driver was taken to a hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.
