Franks seeks transparency

State Representative Jack Franks is continuing to demonstrate why he was the right man to send to Springfield and his efforts to improve our government are still right on point.

Franks recently filed legislation to increase transparency in local government by placing employee pay information online. He wants to build on the Illinois Transparency and Accountability Portal, which he helped create in 2009. By expanding this platform that is already functioning, Franks is working to make government more open and also control the cost to local governments for abiding by the new law.

As taxpayers, we have a right to know what we are paying, and in some cases overpaying, government employees. I fully support Franks' efforts on this subject and am glad to have someone representing McHenry County who is really working to improve our government, not just talking about it.
