Aurora man, two Montgomery women killed in crash
Aurora police are asking for help in piecing together the cause of a head-on collision late Sunday that killed an Aurora man and two women from Montgomery.
Authorities said five others were seriously injured in the crash about 11:50 p.m. on Route 25 south of Hazel Avenue.
Police said two of the victims died at the scene and a third at a hospital.
Sgt. Kevin Convey said the driver of a 2007 Dodge Charger heading north and a 2006 Chrysler Town & Country minivan with seven occupants collided near Spring Lake Memorial Gardens. The minivan was heading south on Route 25 carrying seven members of a Montgomery family ranging in age from 9 to 77.
The Charger’s driver, a 28-year-old Aurora man, was killed along with a 57-year-old woman and a 77-year-old woman, who both were passengers in the minivan, police said. Their names were not being released Monday afternoon pending notification of family.
The severity of the survivors’ injuries has prevented police from asking them about the possible cause of the accident. It is unclear if drugs or alcohol were a factor.
Anyone who may have seen the accident is asked to call Aurora police traffic investigators at (630) 256-5330.
