Barrington event marks Alpaca Farm Days

A free event marking National Alpaca Farm Days will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28 and Sunday, Sept. 29 at Safehouse Farm, 25550 Cuba Road in Barrington.

Meet the alpacas, domesticated animals native to Peru. There will be crafts, tours, food, fun and photo opportunities. Such alpaca fur items as socks, gloves, scarves, yarn and more will be available. Meet a new addition to the barn — Lucca, the Sicilian donkey.
