I-290 crash kills Elk Grove Village man

An Elk Grove Village man was killed Tuesday night in a single-vehicle crash on westbound I-290 east of the Route 64 exit, according to authorities.

A spokesman for the DuPage County coroner's office identified the man as 49-year-old Charles O'Connell. He was pronounced dead at the scene, although the cause of death is still being investigated.

Police received a call reporting the crash around 9:13 p.m. Tuesday. No additional details were immediately available.
