Successful CPR, AED Training Held For Lombard Community

Two locations, Village Hall and the First Church of Lombard, offered the free training. Seventeen volunteers from the Lombard Fire Department, Code Red, Cardiac Science and the DuPage County Health Department, helped the event run smoothly and made the offer for the free training possible.

Lombard Village President Bill Mueller participated in the training and commented that he is pleased so many residents took the time for the training. “Everyone seemed very enthused and by having an increased number of residents trained in these areas, they are able to help out in situations that may occur until police and fire personnel are on the scene,” Mueller added. “This is very important in today's life style for families, neighbors and all residents for added safety in our community with residents helping each other,” he added.

“I want to thank Village President Bill Mueller and all of those who took the time out of their busy weekend to participate in this life-saving program,” said John Miller, Emergency Response Coordinator with the DuPage County Health Department. “I am inspired that so many people are committed to learning the proper use of an AED, as well as the correct way to administer CPR. These skills could save a life some day, and DuPage County residents should take comfort in knowing there are people looking out for their well-being,” Miller added.
