Antioch takes title behind 6 goals from Hernandez

Antioch senior forward Iven Hernandez continued his torrid scoring pace Saturday, scoring 6 goals in a pair of wins that earned the Sequoits the tournament championship at Illinois Math and Science Academy in Aurora.

The Sequoits defeated IMSA 5-1, as Hernandez scored four times. He then notched a pair of goals to help Antioch finish the tournament with a 3-0 win over Joliet Catholic.

For the season, Hernandez has 16 goals and 5 assists in 8 games. Antioch is off to a 7-1 start.

JR Lonergan assisted on 3 of Hernandez’s goals against IMSA, while Krystian Streit added a goal and an assist. RJ Ruano also assisted on a goal.

Danny Brito tallied a goal and an assist against Joliet Catholic. Brandon Schwarz added an assist as well for Antioch, and Connor Gugel recorded the shutout in goal.

Glenbrook South 1, Libertyville 0: The Titans scored the lone goal in the opening half.
