Get advice from experts at Old House New House Home Show

Renovation, remodeling, transformation and restoration will be celebrated in the 58th season of the Old House New House Home Show, set for Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 28-29, at Pheasant Run Resort, 4051 E. Main St., St. Charles.

Since 1984 this biannual event has been a hub for new trends in home improvement, with displays from 300 award-winning contractors, talented designers and creative craftspeople.

Show hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Adult admission is $7. For seniors, 62 and older, admission is $4. Children under 18 are admitted free and parking is free.

Featured presenters include:

“Rehab Addict” Nicole Curtis: Described as a resourceful, refreshing restoration machine, Nicole Curtis, the “Rehab Addict” from the DIY and HGTV networks, will appear from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29. She is a self-taught home rehabber, designer and a spirited advocate for saving older homes. She is a whirlwind of ideas, energy and creative vision, skilled with every tool in her belt.

“Mr. Fix It” Lou Manfredini: The handy and helpful Lou Manfredini will be featured from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, with his upbeat approach to practical projects and home maintenance. Manfredini’s enthusiasm for home improvements is contagious and his guidance golden. Known as “Mr. Fix It” on WGN Radio, he also hosts “House Smarts” and is a frequent contributor on the “Today” show.

Hunter Douglas Director of Creative Services Sally Morse: Morse will share her savvy style and energized expertise in the “Decorating Trends” workshop, each day at 1 p.m. Morse has her finger on the pulse of new looks in sophisticated spaces.

“Designing Your Dream Kitchen” by Laura Gleamza: Gleamza, licensed Interior Designer with Laura Gwyn Interiors, will present both days at 2 p.m. Gleamza’s fresh ideas, mindful design strategies and before-and-after photos are always an asset to audiences.

A portion of the ticket proceeds are donated to Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley and its ReStore, based in Elgin.
