It’s not entirely Obama’s fault
May I be permitted a brief response to George Blinick who responded to my previous letter? I wish to apologize if I gave the impression that I was blaming President Obama for all of our nation’s financial ills. I am neither Democrat nor Republican and can readily see that this responsibility must be shared by many of our former presidents. What I was doing was responding to an article referring to Obama’s “common sense solutions to create jobs” I am aware of the upturn in the automotive industry, but everybody cannot be employed making cars. What about the millions of people who have lost and are continuing to lose either their businesses or jobs because of outsourcing? Unemployed people won’t have money to purchase all those newly made cars.
This mess didn’t start with Obama and it surely won’t end with him, but let’s hope that sometime in the future we will have a leader who actually takes steps to bring back some of our industries so that families can once again have the security of knowing that there are jobs creating things that proudly bear the label “Made in America.”
Perhaps our nation’s leaders, like so many of us individually, have the credit-card mentality: “I see it, I want it, I must get it now.” The fact that payment will be due seems not to bother our politicians as they continue to borrow ever more money to cover past and present debts. We are digging an economic hole from which future generations will have to struggle to rise. I wish Obama well and hope that he will be able to undo some of the unenviable situation in which we all now find ourselves.
