How could Syria defend itself now?

Syria lost Golan Heights as a result of what is called “war” of 1967. With the ability to make nuclear arms killed and stores of mustard gas destroyed, with what other type of weapons can they confront an enemy possessing nuclear, chemical, etc., weapons?
