Northwest Suburbs & Lake McHenry Organizing for Action Economic Issues Day of Action
Northwest Suburbs and Lake/McHenry OFA Chapters along with local supporters are participating an economic action event on Wednesday, September 25, at 12:00 p.m. at Barrington Memorial Park. Their mission is to call on Congress to support a better bargain for the middle class and grow the economy from the middle out. The House of Representatives has voted to shut down the Federal government unless the Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Obamacare, is defunded.
The purpose of this event is to demand that Congress fully fund our government with a complete budget, not a piecemeal one, when it goes back in session on September 25. As President Obama recently stated, "The most basic Constitutional duty Congress has is to pass a budget."
Representative Peter Roskam is opposed to Obamacare. The OFA chapters will assemble at Barrington Memorial Park for a rally and then walk one block to Representative Roskam's Barrington office to share with him how shutting down the government will have dire consequences for our country and its citizens.
