Columbia College-Lake County graduation Aug. 24

Columbia College-Lake County will recognize graduates at a commencement ceremony Saturday, Aug. 24 at 1:30 p.m. at the Genesee Theater in Waukegan. Terry Smith, interim president at Columbia College, will provide the commencement address and confer degrees. Mark Phelan, director, Navy College Office, will provide remarks. Gary Oedewaldt, associate dean for Adult Higher Education, also will provide remarks. Vicki Ryan will provide the alumni charge. Columbia College — Lake County was established in 1972 at Fort Sheridan Army Base and later moved to Glenview Naval Air Base. Other moves included Waukegan and Park City. In March 2008, after 10 years in Park City, the campus moved to its present location in Gurnee.
