Elk Grove Village-based Wynright acquired by Japanese company

Elk Grove Village-baased Wynright Corp. announced it will be acquired by Daifuku Webb Holding Co. of Farmington Hills, Mich., a subsidiary of Japan-based Daifuku Co., Ltd. Terms of the acquisition were not announced.

Under the agreement, Wynright will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Daifuku Webb. The acquisition is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2013.

Wynright is a manufacturer of intelligent material handling systems, including conveyor and sortation systems, voice- and light-directed order fulfillment technology, a suite of warehouse controls and execution software, robotics, mezzanines, and structures.

In addition to its Elk Grove Village headquarters, Wynright has a facility and tech center in Oak Lawn, as well as regional offices and facilities throughout the U.S.
