Report: Cubs agree to terms with Cuban pitcher

The Cubs were not confirming a report Thursday night that they had agreed to terms with Cuban left-handed pitcher Gerardo Concepción. ESPN. deportes reported that the 18-year-old Concepción and the Cubs had agreed to a guaranteed $7 million contract with incentives that could bring the deal to $8 million. The deal, the report said, was contingent on Concepción passing a physical exam.

Concepción was the rookie of the year in the Cuban National series in 2010-11, going 10-3 with a 3.36 ERA in 21 games, 16 starts.
