Loyola University plans housing, student union
Loyola University has improvement plans for its campus in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood.
The school has given Chicago city officials a zoning proposal that includes new housing and replacing a gymnasium with a new student union. There's also plans to expand the Halas Sports Center.
Michael Brosko is the university's associate director of capital planning. Brosko says it should take about six years to complete the plan.
Improvement plans have already been in the works at the school. In recent years the university has renovated academic buildings and made an addition to the Gentile Center, where the basketball teams play.
Loyola's zoning proposal submission will begin a city review process.
