West Aurora opens with easy win

West Aurora defeated East Aurora 46-18 Saturday in the 121st meeting in the oldest football rivalry in Illinois.

East Aurora returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and added the 2-point conversion for an immediate 8-0 lead.

The Tomcats then looked force a three-and-out on West Aurora's first possession, but West was able to convert the first down — and then some. Led by quarterback Quintez Jones, receiver Drake Spears and running back Isaiah Ruffin, the Blackhawks took over to win their 12th straight game over East Aurora.
