Delnor staff eased pain with caring

I want to pay a great tribute to Dr. Robert Bayer and the nursing staff at Delnor Hospital in Geneva. My wife, Marj Walls, fought a courageous five-year battle with a very aggressive cancer. Dr. Bayer is one of the most respected and outstanding oncologist specialists in the entire field of cancer research and treatment. During Marj’s five-year battle Dr. Bayer took time to discuss her condition and the various treatments and took extra time to be sure we understood both the desirable and undesirable effects of all the treatment options. He never rushed us as we pondered which treatment we should consider.

I also must express my deep appreciation for his nursing staff and the entire Delnor nursing staff for the loving care administered during the many radiation and chemotherapy treatments and hospital stays during those five years. They showed us the love and care of a family. There is no way that I can truly express how much we appreciated Dr. Bayer and his staff for all they did for us. Their love and care helped ease the pain that Marj and I felt during the entire ordeal.

We respected and loved them all as I still do. I miss Marj greatly but my prayer during the last few months was “Lord please take her home and out of her suffering.” She is now in His loving arms and is over with all her suffering and pain.

I hope if anyone who may be fighting cancer of any kind will have the opportunity to be treated by the doctors and staff at Delnor Hospital in Geneva.
