Catholic Charities seeks school supply donations
As many families this summer rush to the stores to take advantage of various back-to-school deals, Catholic Charities urges the community to consider those unable to do so.
Every school year, many low-income families are unable to provide their children things like notebooks, backpacks, and even pencils. But every year, Catholic Charities in Lake County provides support to these families via its School Supplies Project.
Through this program, Catholic Charities collects and distributes supplies to families participating in its programs and in the community at large. You can help by organizing a school drive and collecting supplies from families, friends, neighbors, or churches.
These supplies should be delivered to the Catholic Charities location at 671 Lewis Ave., Waukegan, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. All these supplies should be delivered no later than Aug. 9.
With help from the community, Catholic Charities aims to ensure that each child will have the tools they need to start the school year and prepare them for academic success. Label supplies according to the grade levels below:
