Boy Scout troops to host fundraisers
Local Boy Scouts Troops will hold fundraising events this month.
Ÿ Boy Scout Troop 18 will host a spaghetti dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, in the school gym at St. Thomas More Church, 1625 W. Highland Ave., Elgin. A $5 ticket donation will get you all-you-can-eat spaghetti, bread, salad, juice or coffee, dessert and an entry for a $100 BP gas card door prize. The winner need not be present to win. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
Ÿ Boy Scout Troop 32 of West Dundee will hold its annual pasta dinner Saturday, Feb. 4, from 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. at the Bethlehem Community Ministry Center, 417 W. Main St., West Dundee. Tickets are available at the door. The cost is $6 per person or $5 for Scouts in uniform. The menu includes spaghetti, either meat or meatless, salad, garlic bread, pop, coffee or water, as well as your choice of desserts. Proceeds are used to supply awards, equipment, and any other items needed to run the troop.
Ÿ St. John’s Boy Scout Troop 2 is having its annual all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast on Sunday, Feb. 5. The event will be from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church gym, 115 N. Spring St. in Elgin.
Featured fare will include pancakes, French toast, eggs, sausage, fry bread (a camping treat), toast, juices, milk, coffee, and tea. Tickets are $6 per person, $5 for a senior 60 or older, $20 for immediate families, and free for kids younger than 5. Tickets may be purchased from any Troop 2 scout or at the door.
Troop 2 is composed of more than 50 boys with more than 30 active adult leaders and provides a boy-run program composed of weekly meetings, monthly campouts, summer camp opportunities, and a yearly high-adventure trip.
Profits from the breakfast will pay for the Troop program, including the BSA annual rechartering, program materials, new equipment, advancement costs, and training of both Scouts and adult scouters. Visit www.troop2.com.
