McHenry Co. officer placed on leave after domestic issue

A McHenry County Sheriff’s officer has been placed on administrative leave following a domestic issue, authorities said Saturday evening.

The officer’s supervisors were notified Friday night of the issue, which involved the officer and his family, according to a news release from McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren. The matter was not related to the day-to-day operations of the sheriff’s office, the release stated.

The sheriff’s office “took immediate action” and placed the officer on leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation by the Illinois State Police, the release stated.
